The work

How we size a system
We start with how and when you use electricity, then look at the roof: which way it faces, its pitch, and what shades it. Expected generation comes from PVGIS, the European Commission's solar model, which gives a south-facing roof in Derby about 979 kWh a year per kWp and an east or west-facing roof about 773 kWh.
If most of the power from a big system would end up exported, the quote says so and shows whether a smaller system or a battery would give you a better return.
